Rose Park
Rose Park is the northwest pocket Salt Lake spent decades pretending was farther away than it is. Ten minutes from downtown, hemmed in by the airport flight path and the Jordan River, it stayed working-class and genuinely mixed while the east bench gentrified itself into a Patagonia catalog. The taquerias are real, the Tongan church potlucks are real, the bungalows are cheap by SLC standards and getting less so. Dating here means someone with a car, a real job, and zero patience for Sugar House posturing. Tradeoff: thinner restaurant bench, occasional jet noise, a longer Uber back to 9th and 9th.
