Marmalade
Marmalade is the hilltop pocket north of downtown where the streets are named for fruit trees because the streets were once lined with fruit trees. It is residential, quiet, and steep enough that the views do most of the talking. The Marmalade Library anchors the southern edge, the Capitol presides to the east, and the housing stock runs from Victorian holdouts to careful new infill. The honest tradeoff: there is almost nothing to do here, by design. You walk, you look, you go back down the hill to eat. For a date, it is a detour, not a destination.
