Desert Shores
Desert Shores is the 1980s Summerlin-adjacent gambit where Collins Development dug four lakes into the Mojave and called it waterfront living. It mostly works. The lakes are real, the paddleboards are real, and the lakeside restaurants at Lake Jacqueline do the date-night thing without requiring a Strip reservation or a valet tip. The catch is the catch of all northwest planned communities: HOA fees that fund the very water you came for, home prices that priced out the original buyers' kids, and a vague sense that you have moved to a brochure. Bring a date who likes brochures.
