Union Square
Union Square finally got its Green Line stop, and the neighborhood is still figuring out what that means. Bow Market remains the gravitational center, stacking Remnant Brewing, Rebel Rebel wine, and Union Square Donuts into one courtyard that does most of the heavy lifting for a first date. Backbar hides on Sanborn Court for the cocktail crowd. The honest part: construction scars linger on Somerville Avenue, rents jumped the second the T opened, and old-Somerville diners are getting squeezed by new arrivals.
