Chesapeake
Chesapeake is the suburban sprawl west of Virginia Beach, where Hampton Roads loses its shoreline glamour and acquires a lot of cul-de-sacs. The dating pool skews family-formation: more Navy spouses, more church groups, fewer venues that stay loud past ten. Greenbrier and Western Branch are where the actual restaurants live, and Norfolk is a short bridge away when you need a night that does not end at a Cheesecake Factory. Honest tradeoff: cheaper rent than Virginia Beach, but the dating geography routes you back to Norfolk or the Oceanfront on weekends. Useful as a base, less useful as a scene.
