Central 9th
Central 9th is the compact pocket at 900 South and 200 West that Salt Lake's design class points to when proving the city has taste. A few blocks of low brick, a couple of cocktail rooms, Water Witch slinging the drinks the rest of the state pretends not to want, and Pretty Bird settling the chicken sandwich argument. The tradeoff is honest: there is not much of it, and what there is fills by seven on a Friday. Bring patience or come on a Tuesday. Either way, it reads less Utah and more Brooklyn-with-mountains, which is the whole pitch.
