Uptown
Uptown is the neighborhood that taught Minneapolis how to flirt, and it has the receipts: the lakes for daytime virtue, the bars on Hennepin and Lake for the rest of it. The reputation is older than the current tenants, which is part of the catch. Calhoun Square became something else, a few institutions closed, and the post-2020 vibe is patchier than its boosters admit. Still, the bones are good: Bde Maka Ska at sunset remains a free first-date cheat code, and the apartment density keeps the dating pool deep. Come for the lakes, stay because the rent is, briefly, reasonable.
