Mid-Beach
Mid-Beach is what South Beach pretends it still is - moneyed, hushed, slightly self-serious. The Faena District anchors it: Alan Faena's pink-and-gold hotel on Collins, the gilded mammoth in the lobby, the Damien Hirst that everyone photographs and nobody admits to liking. Soho House sits up the road, the Edition holds the bowling alley nobody bowls in, and the 1 Hotel does the barefoot-billionaire thing convincingly. Date logic: walk Collins between 32nd and 44th, drink at one of the hotel bars, end on the sand. Tradeoff: the price ceiling is genuinely cruel, and the crowd skews older, married, and from somewhere colder.
