NuLu
NuLu is the restaurant-and-bourbon corridor that downtown Louisville rebuilt itself around, anchored on East Market between Hancock and Wenzel. Expect tasting menus, distillery tap rooms, and a gallery hop the first Friday of every month. The tradeoff is honest: parking is street-only and rates climb on weekends, the crowd skews convention-badge after nine, and rents have pushed a few of the original galleries out toward Butchertown. Bring a date who likes ordering the flight; skip it if you wanted a quiet neighborhood bar. Dress code is shirt-with-buttons, not jacket. The strip rewards a reservation and a slow second drink.
