Marble City
North of downtown, named for the pink Tennessee marble that built half the federal buildings in DC, Marble City is residential bones with a slowly thickening seam of date-worthy stops. Central Filling Station's food trucks and Pretentious Beer Co. give you a low-stakes weeknight option, and Happy Holler's strip of bars and cafes is the actual draw: K Brew for coffee meetings, Time Warp Tea Room for the museum-bar curio crowd, Three Bears for divey honesty. The tradeoff: thin after 10pm, and the walk between clusters isn't continuous. Best for daytime and early-evening dates who'd rather skip Old City's bachelorette decibels.
