Overland Park is where Kansas City admits, quietly, that it has become a Johnson County metro with a downtown attached. The biggest suburb on the Kansas side, it carries the corporate parks, the cul-de-sacs, and the school district everyone in the region uses as a real estate tiebreaker. Dating here skews coupled-up, credentialed, and competent at brunch. Singles exist; they tend to be transplants for Sprint successors, Black and Veatch, or one of the hospitals, and they tend to meet at the same handful of Metcalf restaurants.
