North End
The North End is Boise's pre-war street grid with the bungalows and bike lanes intact, wedged between Hyde Park's coffee shops and the foothills trailheads. Harrison Boulevard does the Christmas-light thing in December; the rest of the year it's joggers, strollers, and dogs that cost more than the rent. Dates here lean walkable: a flight at Lost Grove or Telaya, dinner at Wild Root, a wander past the houses. The tradeoff is honest. You're paying historic-charm prices for 1910 plumbing, and parking near Camel's Back on a Saturday is a personality test. Worth it if you like your neighborhood lived-in rather than leased-out.
