Waterville

Waterville is the date you take when both of you want to pretend Toledo is further away than it is. The Maumee does most of the heavy lifting here, with a downtown small enough to walk in heels and old enough to feel curated rather than constructed. Roche de Boeuf and the abandoned interurban bridge supply the obligatory photograph; the restored depot and a handful of restaurants supply the dinner. Honest tradeoff: nightlife ends early and the dating pool is mostly people who already know your cousin. Best used as a Saturday afternoon, not a strategy. The river view earns its keep.
