South Tampa
South Tampa is where Tampa keeps its money and its manners. The peninsula stretches from Hyde Park's brick streets down through Palma Ceia and Bayshore, lined with banyans, bungalows, and the occasional teardown going McMansion. Bayshore Boulevard's 4.5-mile sidewalk does double duty as the city's catwalk and cardio strip. SoHo brings the bar crowd; Hyde Park Village brings the rose all-day energy. Tradeoffs are real: flood zones, evacuation routes, and rents that have caught up with the views. But if you want walkable, leafy, and unmistakably Tampa, the peninsula is still the answer.
