Amherst
Amherst is a college town that forgets it is a town, with UMass, Amherst, and Hampshire dumping roughly thirty thousand students into a village that otherwise reads sleepy and academic. The dating market splits cleanly: undergrads churning through dorm-adjacent situationships, and a thin layer of grad students, professors, and locals who watched the churn and opted out. Downtown is walkable, the Black Sheep is still the Black Sheep, and the Five College consortium means a date in Northampton or South Hadley is a normal Tuesday. Upside: smart people, cheap beer. Downside: everyone leaves in May.
