Greenwood

A Caddo Parish town pressed against the Texas line, Greenwood is the last Louisiana exit before the casinos stop being yours. I-20 traffic streams past on the way to Waskom, and that throughput defines the social texture: truck stops, churches, a few sit-down places that close earlier than you remember. The dating pool is small and largely spoken for by high school, so newcomers commute into Shreveport for anything resembling a scene. Upside: cheap rent, quick interstate, no pretense. Downside: every first date is a thirty-minute drive, and everyone at the next table knows somebody's mother.
