Eastlake
Eastlake is the quiet answer to a Lake Union date. The houseboats Sleepless in Seattle made famous still line the western edge, the small commercial stretch along Eastlake Avenue keeps it neighborhood-scaled, and Serafina has been the reliable Italian date spot for two decades. Pomerol handles the smaller, more deliberate evening. The tradeoff is mobility: no light rail, the 70 bus, and a hill back up to Capitol Hill if you walked down. But you get Gas Works views across the lake, Lake Union Park on foot, and conversation that doesn't compete with a Belltown DJ.
