Kenwood is a tiny Sonoma Valley pocket between Glen Ellen and Santa Rosa, where the date is a winery picnic, an oak-shaded tasting flight at Kunde, or a slow drive up Sugarloaf Ridge for the view. Population barely registers, which is the point; you come here to be unfindable for an afternoon. Weeknights are sleepy, lodging is thin, and dinner means doubling back to Glen Ellen or Santa Rosa. The tradeoff: zero scene, zero buzz, and the rare California date that does not require parking strategy. Bring a designated driver and a sweater for the porch after sundown.
