Barrington
Barrington is the East Bay suburb the rest of Rhode Island quietly resents, a leafy peninsula where the public schools rank and the property taxes punish. Narragansett Bay does most of the marketing, lapping at the Barrington Yacht Club and the bike path that runs from Providence to Bristol through marsh grass and osprey nests. The dating pool is, predictably, married with kids and a golden retriever, but the commuter rail to Providence and an aging-out demographic of empty-nesters keep the singles math less grim than the cul-de-sacs suggest. Brunch at Chianti, drinks at Tyler Point, weddings at the Squantum Association.
