Cape Elizabeth

Cape Elizabeth is where Portland keeps its postcards. Two Lights State Park, Fort Williams, and the lighthouse Edward Hopper painted draw a date with built-in stage lighting; the Lobster Shack at Two Lights handles the rest. The tradeoff: it is residential, quiet, and priced like it. There are no walkable bar blocks, almost no nightlife, and the dating pool skews families and retirees rather than singles. Treat it as a daytime or golden-hour move from Portland proper, not a place to base a weekend. Bring a car, a jacket for the headland wind, and zero expectation of a nightcap.
