Cantonment

Cantonment is a north Escambia community wrapped around the old paper mill, the Highway 29 corridor, and the subdivisions filling in between Pensacola and the Alabama line. It is unincorporated, which means no downtown to meet at, no walkable bar district, and dating life that defaults to Pensacola proper or the chain restaurants along Nine Mile Road. The pool skews mill, trades, and Navy-adjacent families who already bought a house here for the schools and the commute. Honest tradeoff: meaningfully cheaper than Pensacola itself and quieter than Pace, but a first date almost always means driving south.
