Western Avenue
Western Avenue is the quieter answer to Plaza District. A long, low-slung commercial strip between NW 36th and NW 50th, anchored by Will Rogers Theatre and a rotating cast of restaurants that skew older, slower, and a little more confident. Nonesuch shut its doors but the room it set still defines the corridor's ambition. Date-night density is real: Stella, Picasso Cafe, Sunnyside Diner for the morning after. The tradeoff is the layout, since Western is a car-strip, not a true walkable district, and you will move the vehicle twice in one evening. Worth it for the kitchens.
