Saraland is what happens when Mobile's suburbs decide the city is a problem to be solved rather than a place to live in. You get I-65 frontage, a Walmart Supercenter, and school zoning that parents will defend with the intensity of a property-tax appeal. Date nights mean a chain restaurant off Industrial Parkway or the twenty-minute drive south to actual Mobile, which most couples make eventually. The dating pool skews married, churched, and oil-and-gas adjacent. Honest tradeoff: you trade walkable third places for a driveway and a quiet street, and the romantic upside is mostly leaving town together.
