The result is genuinely useful for daters tired of strip-mall geometry, with sit-down restaurants, a lake, and the residual gravitational pull of Canobie Lake Park for nostalgia trips. The honest tradeoff is atmosphere: Salem still reads as a retail corridor wearing a nicer jacket, and Rockingham Park's ghost lingers. But for a no-sales-tax dinner thirty minutes from Boston, the math holds.
