The plant is the largest in North America and quietly underwrites the whole economy, from the school levy to the new subdivisions creeping toward Stamping Ground. Downtown is the redemption arc: a walkable historic core with brick storefronts, the Ward Hall columns nearby, and enough independent coffee to suggest somebody is trying. Georgetown College keeps a small-liberal-arts pulse going. The catch is geography. You are far enough from Lexington that date night requires a plan, close enough that everyone commutes. Pleasant, employed, slightly suburban-anonymous outside the courthouse square.
