Radium Springs

Radium Springs sits about fifteen miles north of Las Cruces on the Rio Grande, named for the hot springs that briefly made it a 1930s resort destination. Today it is unincorporated, rural, and quiet, anchored by Fort Selden's adobe ruins and the long view across the valley. The population hovers in the low thousands, spread thin enough that dating is a Cruces commute with a scenic drive home. Leasburg Dam State Park gives you a daytime excuse, the river gives you the soundtrack. Pleasant, slow, and uninterested in pretending to be a nightlife town. Plan accordingly, drive carefully after dark.
