Wyoming does not try to charm you, and that is honest work. Once a furniture and GM town, it is now Grand Rapids' largest suburb by population, a wide grid of ranch houses, taquerias along 28th Street, and the slowly redeveloping Site 36 where the Plant used to be. The dating pool is genuinely mixed: Latino, Vietnamese, and white working families, a lot of twenty- and thirty-somethings priced out of the city proper. Bars are sports bars, dates are casual, and nobody is performing. Metro Health Village and Rogers Plaza do the daytime meet-cute work. Unpretentious, which some will read as the whole point.
