Situationship
An undefined romantic and sexual involvement that resembles a relationship but lacks explicit commitment, exclusivity, or shared future planning. Often deliberate, often mutual.
A situationship occupies the space between a hookup and a committed relationship. Both parties typically know there is no formal label, and the ambiguity is part of the arrangement. Coined in early-2010s relationship discourse; gained mainstream usage by 2020.
