High Springs

High Springs sits a half hour north, where Alachua County trails off into limestone and the Santa Fe River does the heavy lifting for tourism. It is a tubing-and-spring-diving town with a Main Street of antique shops, a couple of decent breakfast places, and the unmistakable air of a place that empties on Sunday night. Dating here means meeting someone at a spring put-in, splitting a cabin rental, or driving back to Gainesville for anything resembling nightlife. The upside is sincerity: nobody is High Springs-adjacent by accident. The tradeoff is logistics. If your idea of a date involves walking somewhere, you picked the wrong exit.
