Over-the-Rhine is the rare American comeback that actually compounded: one of the country's largest contiguous historic districts, Italianate facades stacked block after block, now anchoring Cincinnati's densest stretch of bars and restaurants. Vine Street does most of the heavy lifting, with Washington Park and Findlay Market bookending the crawl. The honest tradeoff is well-rehearsed by now: the same restoration that filled the storefronts also priced out a lot of who was here, and the neighborhood still wears that tension.
