Putnam County's quiet northwest play. Poca is small enough that everyone clocks the new face at the gas station, and the dating math reflects it: your pool is functionally Nitro, Cross Lanes, and the Teays Valley commuters who drift through. Upside is the price floor and the river-town calm. Downside is that anything resembling a date night happens fifteen to twenty minutes elsewhere, usually toward Hurricane or back into Charleston proper. Honest read: live here for the rent and the quiet, drive for the company. The Poca High football crowd is the closest thing to a built-in social scene.
