West Side
The West Side is Buffalo's most honest neighborhood, which cuts both ways. Grant Street still carries Burmese groceries, Ethiopian coffee, and West Side Bazaar's stalls, but the blocks toward Richmond have tipped: porch renovations, third-wave coffee, asking prices that would have been a joke in 2018. Dates here trade on that tension. Coffee at Tipico, dinner at Lait Cru or Las Puertas, a slow walk past houses someone is clearly flipping. It works best with someone who notices the displacement and says so plainly, not someone who calls it up-and-coming and lets the phrase do the work for them.
